Kitzbuehel and Alpbachtal Ski Trips

A couple weeks ago we went skiing at Alpbachtal, Austria. Then, this past weekend, Chris, Alissa and I went to Kitzbuehel, Austria.

These are from Alpbachtal.

These are from Kitzbuehel. The snow was outstanding there! We had consistent boot-to-knee-deep powder and even waist-deep in some places.
Here are Chris and Alissa on our favorite "run" of the day.
And me...
Oh yeah, nearly waist-deep!
I had to take a picture of this sign. Of course we had to go down it, but we aren't real sure why they needed a sign because it wasn't as steep as nearly every other run we did that day.
For example, this one...
This one had waist-deep powder and was super steep. I went down it first and about half way down I hit something that was probably the top of a buried tree and it kicked one of my skis off. I slid down the mountain about 25 feet or so and it was so deep that it took me what seemed like forever to crawl back up there because I'd take a step, but lose 3/4 of it each time. Luckily Chris was behind me and started digging around for the ski.
After probably about 10 minutes of digging around, I finally saw about an inch of the back of my ski sticking out. Thank goodness I wasn't by myself or last down the mountain or I might have had a long walk back to the car and a very expensive day of skiing!
